The Verge
Annual 10-day inter-coalition festival on the edge of the Wastes
Type Event / Temporary City
Location Moves yearly along the Wastes border

Calythera Archives – Entry 13 – The Verge

The Verge is the annual 10-day inter-coalition festival erected each year by the Duskcrag Concord on the bleeding edge of the Wastes. Using unknown stabilization technology, the dwarves create a temporary bubble of stable aether where none should exist. For ten days it becomes neutral ground where the coalitions trade relics, forge (and break) alliances, and conduct business that cannot happen inside their own borders. When the festival ends, the structures are dismantled and the land returns to desolation. This archive entry details the districts, quest hubs, and unique atmosphere of the one place where the world’s tensions and opportunities converge once a year.

The Verge is the temporary 10-day festival city built annually on the border of the Wastes. It functions as neutral ground for high-stakes trade, diplomacy, and intrigue that cannot safely occur inside coalition territories.

Atmosphere and Role

For ten days the Verge becomes a pressure-cooker of opportunity and danger. Coalition flags fly side by side, relics change hands under watchful eyes, and secrets are traded in the shadows of festival tents. When the tenth day ends, the dwarves dismantle the structures and the land reverts to the Wastes. The memories — and the consequences — remain.

The Verge is the one place in Calythera where the coalitions must coexist without the protection of their own borders. It is a brief, intense window where ambition, desperation, and calculated risk collide under the open sky.
