Eldrin Corvayne was the clan leader of House Corvayne before his daughter Aelira Corvayne assumed the role. A former battle general of considerable reputation, he led the clan through some of its most demanding years before stepping back from leadership without public explanation. He has been largely absent from the main caravan since.
His current whereabouts are not unknown so much as they are unannounced.
Appearance
6'4", broad-shouldered, powerfully built in the way of someone who has spent decades doing difficult things in difficult conditions. Bald. Steely gray eyes. Weathered skin carrying old scars that he does not discuss. He wears simple, functional clothing — light-tan or off-white in cut, practical in construction, with subtle House Corvayne markings that are easy to miss if you are not looking for them.
He moves slowly and deliberately. Not from age or infirmity — from the habit of a man who has learned that most situations reward patience over urgency.
Character
Eldrin speaks in short sentences that carry more weight than their length suggests. He does not elaborate unless pressed, and pressing him tends to produce a second short sentence rather than the elaboration requested. Those who served under him during his years as a battle general describe a commander whose orders were always clear, whose expectations were always communicated once, and whose disappointment was expressed through silence rather than reproach.
He shows care through practical action. A repaired piece of equipment. A route reconsidered. A decision quietly reconsidered without acknowledgment that it has been reconsidered. People who know him well enough have learned to read these gestures for what they are.
He runs his thumb along an old scar on his left forearm when he is thinking. It is the only visible habit that gives anything away.
Military Record
Eldrin's record as a battle general spans several coalition conflicts and a number of engagements in the borderlands that do not appear in official coalition records. He is credited — informally, since he has never confirmed it — with stabilizing a deteriorating engagement along the southern Calder Lines approaches during a period of elevated Syndicate activity that the Ironclad Dominion officially describes as a routine security operation.
He commanded through presence more than strategy, by most accounts. The accounts are consistent on this point.
Current Status
Eldrin stepped back from clan leadership some years ago. The transition to Aelira was not announced publicly — it simply became apparent over time that she was making the decisions and he was not. Whether this was planned, negotiated, or simply the way things settled is not recorded.
Since stepping back, his movements have been intermittent and difficult to track. He appears in way-station logs along the southern routes with enough regularity to confirm he is active and moving with purpose. His trail surfaces most recently in the mountain approaches south of Gildspire Nexus, in territory that leads toward Blackvein Hold.
What he is doing there, no record currently explains. Inquiries directed to House Corvayne regarding his whereabouts have been received and not answered.
