For seven days, open taverns host guild feasts and markets see last-minute negotiations at debt tables. Scribes hammer release stamps onto ledgers amid the sharp scent of fresh ink and the low hum of idling gears. Crowds thicken as the days progress, with some participants calm in anticipation of liberation and others desperate for final concessions.
On the Eve of the Turn—the seventh night—the reset culminates at midnight. A great stamping engine initiates the process, its mechanism synced to others via pulses through aether veins, ensuring simultaneous execution continent-wide. As the stamps fall, celebratory steam-flare bursts erupt from geothermal vents, releasing patterned aether sparks in geometric displays that light the skies.
The Minor Reset ceremony reaches its peak aboard the Dominion Seal, the Ironclad Dominion’s flagship, moored at the Steamwharf in Brassveil Port. The vessel serves as both command platform and ceremonial stage for the largest Turning observances on the continent. A massive stamping engine, housed in the ship’s central deck housing and synced to the aether-vein network, drives the debt-release mechanism. Gears engage in precise sequence, aether pulses travel the fractal circuits, and the great stamp falls, erasing all recorded debts across Calythera in a single continent-wide operation. Yet the ritual’s essence remains consistent elsewhere: etched tally-plates are voided, brass seals broken, and new contracts sealed under lantern light.
The Turning marks the mechanical and social climax of the Minor Reset cycle. It releases accumulated debts and realigns short-term agreements while reinforcing the interdependence of the coalitions through visible, synchronized calibration of aether infrastructure.
